How does the system work exactly
Registration
With the acquisition of lostandfound.me package, you receive a personal registration number (R-Nr.). You can register your product either over the web www.lostandfound.me or by SMS. Over the web see point “Register “. By SMS you type only your personal R-Nr. and send the SMS to the number 5555. With successful registration, you receive a confirmation SMS.
Distinction of your personal items
Beside key support, you receive stickers and depending upon package also a Cardclip. Stick the stickers well legibly on all important items (mobile phone, camera, MP3 player, purse, bicycle, bag, suite-case etc.), which could be lost. Clean the surfaces before sticking the stickers, so that the stickers are properly settled. Of course such a sticker can be stuck also on the medal of a domestic animal. Keep some spare stickers, for new mobile phones, cameras etc. to be also again distinguished.
What happens, if an item is lost?
As soon as someone finds the item, it will be recognized with the sticker, and then either send an SMS or report it on web site www.lostandfound.me. If the finder sends an SMS or announces it over the web page, you will get immediately an SMS with the telephone number of the finder and can get in contact with him to get your item back. You can also agree with him on a possible reward. We recommend 10% of the lost item value. If you lost a key, we recommend you to fetch it personally or to let it send to a P.O. Box address. Please never indicate your address.
What happens, if I do not have any more stickers and still want to mark items?
In the package there are enough stickers, in order to mark all important items. More Stickers with the same R-Nr. to be delivered subsequently is not possible for logistic reasons. In this case we ask you to acquire a new package and register it again.
What does this service costs me?
The service is included in the lost and found package for the first year or first month depending on the package you acquired. After this period, you are asked by the system if you would like to extend the service usage for another six month. The service costs SFr.8.00 for six months and is automatically charged by SMS over your phone bill. You can cancel your subscription at any time on web page or by SMS.
How does it stand with the data protection?
In the system, only your telephone number is registered. No name and no address are requested. Thus your personal data are optimally protected.
